MBSR Courses in Chicago

After moving to Chicago in 2024, I am delighted to be offering in-person courses in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Many of us pivoted to online learning in 2020. We all got used to learning in this way, which has indeed been a breakthrough in accessibility. This said, in-person courses are making a strong comeback, as more and more people are eager to return to in-person formats for growth, learning and connection.

Where and when in Chicago?

Yes, Chi town is a big place! In 2025 a course was offered in Andersonville. I am still actively scouting locations, organizations and institutions suitable for hosting MBSR cohorts. Stay tuned! (And if you have thoughts, get in touch!)

The course lasts 8 weeks, meeting weekly for 2 to 2.5 hours, usually in the evenings. A further Practice Day, usually between weeks 6 and 7 is an integral part of the course. I hold orientations before the start of the course for folk to ask questions and find out more about the course.

Meditating in Chicago

Not all mindfulness meditators are Buddhists, and not all Buddhist meditate by any means.

This said, if you are interested in the meditation landscape of Chicago, it might be useful to check out Buddhist communities and organizations accross a range of traditions and neighborhoods. Chicago has some very interesting Buddhist history.
