Thursday Mornings at the Center
This 8-week class will focus on three essential aspects of practice and how they infuse every factor of the 8-Fold Path. Mindfulness is a quality of mind most directly cultivated through meditation and through learning to turn toward our moment to moment experience with open hearted curiosity. As mindfulness is established, Insight into the true nature of life is clearly seen and the compassionate heart can naturally arise. Compassion itself can be a doorway to Insight as Mindfulness brings curiosity to obstructions in the heart. The class is appropriate for those relatively new to practice as well as more seasoned practitioners. The meditations will be based on the Anapanasati Sutta and we will use a number of texts to enhance our exploration.
